Message from the President

Letter from your President
July 2008

Greetings,
Summer months give us all a time to regroup and recharge our business plans.
Here at your Chamber we are planning, setting time lines and preparing for a busy fall and New Year. As with any seasoned multi tasker, such as myself, a working list is very important in getting the jobs done in an organized manner.  One of the first events on our list is the Ms. Mardi Gras on the Sabine Scholarship Pageant scheduled for September 13th. This pageant gives high school female students an outlet to compete for Scholarships to Lamar State College Orange. This fun event is followed by the Economic development committee’s Business Expo that will be held in October24th. The  expo will also serve as a showcase of area business to our students on their Career Day. Highlighting for them all the dedicated business that make up The Greater Orange Area and giving them a first hand look at career opportunities in their growing home town. In October the Chamber will also co-ordinate the Bi-Annual Governmental Luncheon which is the business community’s way of telling our elected official Thank You for their leadership. November 8th the Chamber will sponsor the Veteran’s Day Salute followed by the Program of Work for Board Members to plan for 2009. So you see we are going to utilize every minute of this slow season called summer!
Included in the newsletter is a form asking you for names of individual who would be willing to serve on the Board of Directors for 2009 and beyond.
Maybe that person is You! Please take some time and consider getting involved with this dynamic team. Your involvement is vital to the growth of your business. Being apart of a forward team brings may Rewards. Support your business and get involved.
