The city of Orange is the county seat of Orange County, which is the 34th largest of the 254 counties in Texas. Orange County is a Metro county, which lies within Southeast Texas on the IH 10 corridor. The county consists of 359 square miles with a population density of 249.5 residents per square mile, while the City of Orange occupies 21.4 square miles with a population density of 871.2 people per square mile. The cities of Pinehurst and West Orange occupy 1.9 and 3.2 square miles with population densities of 1196.8 and 1531.3 respectively.
The entities that comprise the Greater Orange Area are Orange, Pinehurst and West Orange, along with the county areas of Little Cypress, Mauriceville and Orangefield.
